Lizzi’s work is influenced by her studies in traditional design and travels throughout her life, both with family and through her education. Trained as an artist, architect, and urban designer, her broad focus reflects how environments should make a cohesive and meaningful whole that are stimulating, dignified, and beautiful. She believes how we dwell and adorn our surroundings should reflect our role as stewards of culture, our environments, and the planet.
Her studies in philosophy and the arts as an undergraduate set the stage for a design approach deeply rooted in history and therefore in reason. Her graduate studies in architecture and urbanism brought her to Rome for a year, as well as Greece, Belgium, Cuba, China, and some of America's greatest and most historic cities. These travels allowed her to study the height of good design and craft at the source, and a range of experience that brought forth a love and interest in design in all scales and facets.
After an upbringing in Boston and Palm Beach, Lizzi graduated from Boston College where she studied Studio Art, Philosophy, and Economics. She received a Masters in Architecture and a Masters in Architectural Design and Urbanism at Notre Dame, where she deepened her study through international design programs with INTBAU in Spain and Portugal, and the Prince’s Foundation in London and Scotland. Lizzi interned with Porphyrios Associates in London, and upon graduating worked with Merrill, Pastor, and Colgan Architects in Vero Beach, FL.
